Well, what started out as a holiday vacation, turned into a longer than anticipated sabbatical from blogging… But, I’m back today, just in time for the Happy Stampers blog hop! Today, we have created projects featuring products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration! That’s right, it’s that time of year, the biggest sale from Stampin’ Up! when you can earn an exclusive item for free with every $50 purchase. This may be your first stop on the blog hop, or you may have linked to me from Sandi MacIver’s website. Either way, I hope you enjoy the projects I have in store for you today. My first project today features one of my absolute favorite items from the Occasions Catalog, the Butterfly Basics stamp set and matching Butterflies Thinlits Dies.
I just love how the collage technique looks with this stamp set! It seems to lend itself perfectly to layering the images. For the honeycomb image, I didn’t want a rectangle with hard edges, so I used a baby wipe to wipe off some of my ink before stamping on the background. I like the softer effect that it affords to the design.
Isn’t that butterfly just gorgeous! I love the dimension and interest that it adds to the card. It is so delicate and intricate, but with so little effort!
For the inside of my card, I continued the background motif from the front of the card. I think it adds just the right elegant touch to the project!
For my second project, I chose to use two new products from Sale-A-Bration. You won’t believe all the great offerings Stampin’ Up! has come up with this time, but these two are some of my favorites. The Lotus Blossom stamp set and Irresistibly Yours DSP are truly unique! I am head over heals for the dimension achieved with the three step stamp set.
The leaf motif on the background panel comes from the Irresistibly Yours DSP. This product is different than any other that I have seen before. Each sheet is white out of the package, but it has been embossed so it perfect for coloring using the resist technique. All I had to do was use a sponge and some Pear Pizzazz ink to reveal the beautiful leaf pattern. The best part is that you get six different resist patterns and you can color them to match any card design! How can you beat that?
Of course, a blog hop wouldn’t be complete without some blog candy! One lucky reader who leaves me a comment will receive the Good as Gold Simply Sent Kit.
The kit comes with everything you need to make 8 cards in your choice of three different languages!
To enter to win, leave me a comment telling me which one of the Sale-A-Bration items is your favorite. I will announce the winner in my Tuesday Updates post on February 3rd! Good luck, I can’t wait to hear your comments.

Your cards are absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for the tip about wiping part of the ink off with a baby wipe. My favorite item is the irresistibly your dsp. Used something similar at an expo make and take. Sure hope it makes a future catalog. So many possibilities.

I love the way you use the baby wipes to soften the hard edges of some of your background stamps. It does help to give it more layers and texture. My favorite item in the SAB Catalog would be A Happy Thing Stamp Set. Seeing the little lemon and the fluffy little bird inked in a variety of ways on a card, or a box, or a bag, really does make me feel very HAPPY and helps me look forward to a year of possibilities!
