Happy Stampers Holiday Blog Hop – Stampin’ Up!

November Blog Hop

The Happy Stampers group is back with another blog hop!  Today, we have created projects with a holiday theme. This may be your first stop on the blog hop, or you may have linked to me from Amy Koender’s website. Either way, I hope you enjoy the projects I have in store for you today.  My projects today feature the Under the Tree Specialty DSP and the Festival of Trees stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  I just love how these turned out!

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (4 of 8)

For my birthday, my sister gave me a massage gift certificate, and I ended up winning a candle in a drawing from the spa.  I decided to create a custom box for the candle, using my gift box punch board and the fantastic Under the Tree Specialty DSP!

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (1 of 8)

The box fits the candle perfectly! I jazzed up the adorable package by creating a belly band and adorning it with a tag created using the Festival of Trees stamp set and coordinating Tree Punch.  I stamped my tree on whisper white card stock and then sandwiched it between two circles of craft card stock.  Add a star, and some other embellishments and presto… you have a super cute package that anyone would love to receive.

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (7 of 8)

For my card, I used the same elements to create a coordinated look.  I used the stars textured embossing folder on the card base, to add some extra dimension to the front of the card.  I like how it mirrors the star on top of the tree and adds extra texture to the design.  I also looped a little linen thread behind the tag to provide another interesting element.  I like how it all came together.

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (8 of 8)

I finished off the inside of my card, by adding a strip of the Under the Tree Specialty DSP to the inside of the card.  I am really pleased with how these projects turned out!

Giggle Greetings… Age Only Counts if You’re a Cheese! – Stampin’ Up!

Today’s project is a silly birthday card featuring the Giggle Greetings stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I just love the goofy sentiments in this set.  They are perfect for putting a smile on anyone’s face.

Giggle Greetings - Cheese (5 of 4)

I decided to use my Labels Collection Framelits Dies to create a window in the front of my card.  I like how this technique allows the stamped image to be the focal point of the front of the card as well as the inside.

Giggle Greetings - Cheese (6 of 4)

Giggle Greetings - Cheese (3 of 4)

I colored this image using my Stampin’ Blendabilities markers.  The coloring only took a couple of minutes, but it really makes the card pop!

World of Dreams Notepad – Stampin’ Up!

Hello Stampers!  Today’s project is a notepad featuring the World of Dreams stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  As soon as I saw this stamp set in the catalog I knew it was one I just had to have!  I love a stamp set with beautiful silhouetted images!

World of Dreams Notepad (3 of 4)

For instructions about how to create your own beautiful notepads with the perfect measurements, please see my previous post here.

World of Dreams Notepad (1 of 4)

I love these notepads.  They are perfect for brightening up the corner of your desk and they make awesome gifts!  In this case, I made a whole set of them and gave them as favors at my sister’s bridal shower.  I thought that the sentiment was lovely for commemorating the beginning of my sister’s new life with her husband.  You can also add magnets to the back of these pads and keep them on the refrigerator.  You can purchase business card magnets with adhesive on them from most office supply stores.  They are perfect because they are strong enough to hold the pad in place on the fridge.

World of Dreams Notepad (4 of 4)

I love Pinterest, don’t you?  Please pin this project if you love it as much as I do.  You will find a “pin it” button at the bottom of this post below the supply list and card stock cuts.  Also, please subscribe to my blog via email by clicking on the “follow” button if you are a fan of my work.

Hello Love Bridal Shower Card – Stampin’ Up!

Last night I hosted my sister’s bridal shower.  This card is one I created for her using the Hello Love stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  Hello Love is one of the stamp sets you can earn as a hostess (or if your personal order reaches $150).  Isn’t it just adorable?

Hello Love Wedding (2 of 6)

I love the Hello Love stamp set because it is very versatile.  The word bubble is blank and there are a variety of sentiments you can place inside… plus that little bird is just too darn cute!

Hello Love Wedding (3 of 6)

For this card, half of the sentiment is on the front, and the other half is inside the card…

Hello Love Wedding (6 of 6)

When I first saw this stamp set in the catalog, it did not catch my eye.  It wasn’t until I noticed the sample project in the catalog that I realized just how cute this set could be.  I’m so glad that I decided to snatch this one up!

I hope you will consider selecting me as your demonstrator for your stamping needs.  I would love to help you get your very own copy of the Hello Love hostess set.  You can email me at handcraftingheather@icloud.com if you are interested in scheduling a party or class.

Girls’ Night Out Bridal Shower Invitation – Stampin’ Up!

My sister is getting married in a couple of weeks and I am throwing her a bridal shower.  I’m having such a blast creating all the details to make this event special.  You can expect to see several wedding themed posts coming in the near future!  For today’s project, I used the Girls’ Night Out stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create this elegant invitation for the bridal shower.

Girls' Night OUt (2 of 10)

I just love how this turned out.  You can’t really see it well in the picture, but the Silver Foil and the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper add a lovely sparkle to this card.  I just know the guests will love getting this one in the mail.

Girls' Night OUt (3 of 10)

I dry embossed a panel of Shimmery White card stock using the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder to give the card face an added element of elegance.  Then I stamped the bride image from Girls’ Night Out using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I cut out the sentiment using the Banner Framelits Die and my Big Shot.  Then I added it to the front of my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Girls' Night OUt (4 of 10)

I added a length of Silver Satin Ribbon, which is just glorious!  Then I punched some flowers using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and my Petite Petals Punch and the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  Finally, I glitzed them up a bit more with some Rhinestone accents, which tied everything together just perfectly.

Girls' Night OUt (1 of 10)

I know my sister and her friends are going to love this invitation.  It is the perfect start to what I hope will be a really fun evening with my favorite bride!

Mosaic Madness… Hello Card – Stampin’ Up!

Sometimes when life gets busy you just need a super quick card!  Today’s project fits that bill just perfectly with two versions of an everyday card to say “Hello” featuring the Mosaic Madness and Four  You stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!

Mosaic Madness (1 of 11)

Mosaic Madness (7 of 11)

I started my card today with a Whisper White card base, which I dry embossed using the Modern Mosaic Textured Impresssions Embossing Folder.  Next, I added a strip of Gumball Green designer series paper from the Birthday Basics Pack.  That set has so many cute patterns in it!  If you don’t have it in your collection, you should grab some before it is gone.  The Birthday Basics set is one that is available only while supplies last through June 4th.

Mosaic Madness (2 of 11)

Next, I stamped one of the designs from the Mosaic Madness stamp set onto Whisper White card stock using my Pistachio Pudding Classic Stampin’ Pad.  I punched out the stamped images using the Mosaic Punch.  (The Mosaic Madness stamp set and Mosaic Punch are available as a bundle for a 15% discount through June 4th.)  Then I adhered the punched pieces to the front of my card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Mosaic Madness (8 of 11)

For my sentiment, I chose the “Hello” greeting from the Four You stamp set.  I stamped it on Whisper White card stock using Versamark Ink and then heat embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Heat Tool.  I punched out my sentiment using the Decorative Label Punch.  Then I created a partial mat for my greeting by punching the same shape in Gumball Green DSP.  I cut the green punch in half lengthwise, and then cut out the pointed part on the sides (click here to see a visual).

Mosaic Madness (3 of 11)

To finish off the inside of my card, I stamped one of the border stamps from Mosaic Madness in Pistachio Pudding ink along the top and bottom of the inside of my card.

Mosaic Madness (4 of 11)

Mosaic Madness (6 of 11)

I love how quick and easy these cards are to create!  I hope you will try it out when you are in need of a fast solution.  A great way to store all your ideas for creative inspiration is to pin them to Pinterest.  If you scroll to the bottom of this post, you will find a complete list of supplies used to make today’s project, including the dimensions for the card stock cuts.  Below the supply list, you will find a “pin it” button.  I would appreciate your help in spreading the word about my work.

Hello, Lovely Thank You Card – Stampin’ Up!

Today’s project is a Thank You card featuring the Hello, Lovely stamp set, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, and Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!  Each of these items are slated to retire on June 4th and are available only while supplies last.

Hello Lovely (2 of 8)

During the month of April, I have been doing a drawing each Sunday.  One lucky winner who leaves me a comment receives one of the featured products from Sale-a-bration.  Today is the last day to enter for your chance to win.  I would love to hear what you think of today’s card.  Also, if you enjoy reading my posts, why not have them delivered to your inbox automatically.  Just click on the “follow” button in the sidebar.

Hello Lovely (1 of 8)

I started my card today with a Basic Black card base and added a panel of Raspberry Ripple designer series paper from the Birthday Basics Pack.  This design coordinated perfectly with the geometric designs from the Hello, Lovely stamp set.

Hello Lovely (3 of 8)

Next, I dry embossed a panel of Very Vanilla card stock using the Square Lattice embossing folder and my Big Shot.  I mounted that panel onto a panel of Basic Black.  Then I stamped the geometric designs from Hello, Lovely onto Very Vanilla card stock using my Rose Red Classic Stampin’ Pad.  I punched out the stamped images using the 1″ square punch and mounted them on Basic Black card stock mats.  I adhered the stamped images to the embossed panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hello Lovely (6 of 8)

I used the cute  Basic Black Chevron Ribbon to tie a bow around my panel.  I just love the design of that ribbon.  Finally, I stamped the “Thank You” greeting from the Hello, Lovely stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock.  I cut it out using my paper snips and adhered it to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Hello Lovely (7 of 8)

To finish off the inside of my card, I stamped the square design four times along the short side of a Very Vanilla panel using Rose Red ink.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement.

Hello Lovely (8 of 8)

I am very pleased with how this card turned out.  I love the color combination and the use of texture.  Hopefully, you have enjoyed it too.  If so, I hope you will pin this project to Pinterest for me.  If you scroll to the bottom of this post, you will find a complete list of supplies used to make today’s project, including the dimensions for the card stock cuts.  Below the supply list, you will find a “pin it” button.  I would appreciate your help in spreading the word about my work.  Also, don’t forget to leave me a comment for your chance to win a free stamp set from Sale-a-bration!

Serene Silhouettes Mountain Scene for My Dad – Stampin’ Up!

I just can’t seem to stay away from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  It is one of my new favorites!  Today’s card was inspired by a very similar one created by Michelle Zindorf.  As soon as I saw her card, I was blown away by the artistry.  It opened up a whole new world of artistic possibilities that can be achieved with a little sponging!  I made a few modifications to her design to make it my own, but the creative credit for this one definitely goes to Michelle.   Although I’m a little early, this peaceful mountain sunset scene reminded me of my dad, so I decided to make it a Father’s Day card.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset (5 of 7)

Isn’t the scenery on the front of this card just gorgeous!  Well, you won’t believe how easy it is to achieve!  If you are in love with this card as much as I am, please leave me a comment. During the month of April, I will be doing a drawing each Sunday.  One lucky winner will receive one of the featured products from Sale-a-bration.  So, if you missed out on the free items during the sale, now is your chance to win one!  Also, if you enjoy reading my posts, why not have them delivered to your inbox automatically.  Just click on the “follow” button in the sidebar.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset (2 of 7)

Now let’s get to how you can create a card like this one on your own.  I used a lot of cool new techniques on this one, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (13 of 13)

I began by rolling Old Olive ink onto my Square Lattice Textured Impression Embossing Folder using a brayer.  You will get a different impression depending on which side of the folder you apply your ink to.  I rolled the ink on the back side of the folder, then I carefully placed a panel of Old Olive card stock inside and ran it through my Big Shot.  Then I adhered my embossed panel to a Pool Party card base using Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I just love how that technique makes the embossed design pop!

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (1 of 13)

Next, I swiped my So Saffron and Pool Party Classic Stampin’ Pads directly across a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Don’t worry if your ink is streaky, it will actually add to the design in the end.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (2 of 13)

To create my mountain range, I placed a post-it note just below my horizon line.  Then I tore a piece of paper and stuck it to my work surface with two other post-its.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (3 of 13)

Next, I started layering in my ink.  I started with Tempting Turquoise ink, applying it with a stamping sponge.  Then I moved my torn paper and layered in some more.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (4 of 13)

I continued moving my paper and adding more layers of ink until I was satisfied with my mountain range.  At the end, I went back in and added some Marina Mist and Night of Navy ink toward the bottom of the mountains.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (6 of 13)

Once I was happy with my misty island, I used a sponge to add some So Saffron and Cherry Cobbler ink to the sky to give it a sunset effect.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (8 of 13)

Then, I added some greenery to the foreground, by sponging on some Old Olive ink near the bottom of my art piece.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (10 of 13)

For the final step, I inked up the tree from Serene Silhouettes using Stazon Black ink and stamped it on the left hand side of my panel.  I added some of the Stazon ink across the bottom of the panel using a sponge give some more depth to the foreground.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset Tutorial (11 of 13)

I mounted my finished art piece onto a panel of Always Artichoke card stock and added it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the “Happy Father’s Day” greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  I punched it out using the Word Window Punch.  Then I punched some Always Artichoke card stock using the Modern Label Punch.  I inked around the edges with Old Olive ink and layered everything together with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Serene Silhouettes Sunset (4 of 7)

I finished off the inside of my card by sponging along the bottom of a Whisper White panel with Old Olive and Stazon Black ink.  Then I stamped the tree image from Serene Silhouettes in the bottom right corner.

I maintained the same design elements for all four cards of this set.  For details about the techniques used in this project, please click here.  Below, you will find card recipes for the specific supplies and dimensions for each card.

Serene Silhouettes Birthday Wishes Card – Stampin’ Up!

I have an elegant card for you today that features the Serene Silhouettes stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) from Stampin’ Up!  Recently I have seen several projects that used a resist technique with beautiful results, so I decided to try it out for myself.  I think the white embossing of the flower image is just lovely!  If you agree, I would love to hear from you.  Please leave me a comment and I will enter you into my drawing.

Serene Silhouettes (12 of 14)

Today’s project is inspired by three different challenges:  Retro Sketches #108, Splitcoast Stampers CAS266, and The Card Concept #7.

Challenge Images

I began my card with a Whisper White card base.  Then I cut panels of Marina Mist and Soft Sky.  I used my Big Shot to emboss the Soft Sky panels with the Beautifully Baroque and Fancy Fan embossing folders.  I layered the Soft Sky panels on the Marina Mist ones and adhered them to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Serene Silhouettes (3 of 14)

Next, it was time to turn my attention to my focal piece for the card.  I began by rubbing a panel of Whisper White card stock with my Embossing Buddy to ensure that I got a clean image without any extra embossing powder stuck on the card.  Then I inked up my stamp with Versamark Ink and coated the image with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I used my Heat Emboss Tool to set the image.

Serene Silhouettes (1 of 14)

At this stage of the game, things were looking rather plain, but that was all about to change.  The next steps are where the magic happens.  I used a sponge dauber to add ink to the background of my image.  I began by adding Soft Sky ink to the entire background using a circular motion. Then I started from the bottom of the panel and added Marina Mist ink, blending it with the Soft Sky as I went.  I followed the same procedure with my Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad next.  I kept layering and blending until I achieved the desired ombre effect.

Serene Silhouettes (2 of 14)

I finished my art piece by adding a butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set (wood mount and clear mount).  I stamped the image in Marina Mist ink on Soft Sky card stock and punched it out using the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I embellished the butterfly with a Basic Pearl Accent and attached it to the panel using a Mini Glue Dot.  Next, I punched the bottom of the panel using my Scallop Trim Border Punch and attached it to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Serene Silhouettes (4 of 14)

For my greeting , I chose the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment from the  Four You stamp set (wood mount and clear mount).  I stamped it in Night of Navy ink on a scrap of Smoky Slate card stock.  Then I used my Hexagon Punch to create the ends of my banner.  Next, I used a sponge dauber to ink around the edges of the panel with Marina Mist ink.  I mounted my sentiment onto the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally, I added three pearls to the top right corner of the card.

Serene Silhouettes (9 of 14)

For the finishing touches on the inside of my card I stamped the floral image from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set in the corner using my Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad.

Serene Silhouettes (13 of 14)

As a final detail, I stamped the images from the card on an envelope too.  I love the crisp look of the blue tones on the white card.  It just looks clean and elegant.  I would love to hear what you think about this project too.  Don’t forget to leave me a comment, for your chance to win a free stamp set!  Also, if you liked my post today, please pin it to Pinterest for me.  If you scroll to the bottom of the post, you will find a “pin it” button just below my supply list for the project.
