Today’s project is another boxed set of cards featuring the Seasonally Scattered stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I was inspired to create these cards by my friend Amy Koenders. She created a similar card that introduced me to the baby wipe technique. I had never heard of this method before, but I am in love! I adore how the colors blend to create unique patterns. First of all, let me apologize for the photos. I couldn’t get them to show all the details of the Blackberry Bliss layer, which is dry embossed using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder. In the pictures, the layer just ends up looking black, but when I tried to adjust the exposure everything else became washed out. So, just imagine a great textured effect under the main panel. 🙂
For my stamped image, I used the baby wipe technique described in Amy’s post, but instead of creating stripes, I just used random drops of color. I love the effect that is created by combining the Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, and Hello Honey inks.
After my birthday party a few weeks ago, I had a lot of thank you notes to write. This card design was perfect because it was really simple, but beautiful at the same time. I was able to make 25 cards in under an hour (and then it took me another hour to write the notes). I will definitely revisit this card design for thank you notes in the future! Last week, while I was home caring for my sick little guy, a surprise arrived in the mail… My Paper Pumpkin! It is always fun to see what’s in the box. And, it was nice to have a simple project that I could work on while he was napping!
I have to say I love this month’s kit. It came with enough supplies to create four large cards and four small cards plus some super cute envelopes to match. There were also extra die cut sheets and banners that I can use for another project (also nice in case you make a mistake).
The kit includes everything you need… card bases, banners, stamps, ink, adhesive, envelopes, embellishments. The only thing I had to provide was a pair of scissors. Another nice thing about this kit is that it covered many different occasions: friendship, congratulations, birthday, and thank you! 🙂
The kit includes a cute little circle stamp perfect for making the small polka dots on the white die cut panel. However, after stamping small polka dots on three of the cards, I decided to pull out my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and play with it instead. I love the effect, and I have to admit it went much faster than the individual polka-dots.
Check out the cute envelopes that came with this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. The large cards came with pink and yellow solid envelopes, but the smaller cards had cute polka-dots and stars on them! The small cards are just the perfect size to put on top of a gift too! For the smaller cards, I used the And Many More stamp set to change up the greetings.

I’ll tell you what, the last few weeks have been rough! After my difficult week last week, this week I have been sick all week! I’m so grateful that Stampin’ Up! has provided us with quick and simple solutions for when life gets a little crazy! My mom and I created these cards together a couple of weeks ago while we were on vacation at the beach. I knew I couldn’t bring a lot of supplies with me, but I couldn’t imaging a week without some form of creative play, so I threw the Hip Hip Hooray card kit and some paper snips into my suitcase.

Okay, I know I said I was probably not going to post this week since we are so busy with preparations for my sister’s wedding, but what can I say… I got a burst of energy and decided to get to typing! Today’s project is a cute card created with the Kinda Eclectic stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This set is one that was at the top of my “must have” list for the new catalog. I just love it!
I’ve been playing around with layering and different uses for my Designer Series Paper this week. I just love the Typeset DSP that I used for the torn banners on this card.
I am also enjoying combining multiple images to create dynamic backgrounds. This is a little different than my usual style, but I like it!
For a finishing touch on the inside of my card, I stamped the polka dot border image and some butterflies on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock. I love how the polka dots have words inside them. It gives the stamp added texture and interest and also made it a great partner for the Typeset DSP.
This project would make a great thank you card or a love note for a friend. I am really pleased with how it turned out. Please pin it to Pinterest if you are a fan of this card. I am so excited about today’s project! It may be one of my favorites of all time! The name of this stamp from Stampin’ Up! just says it all… Perfect Peacock! I am in love with how elegant this gorgeous peacock turned out… and you won’t believe how easy it was to achieve.
This card looks like it would take hours to color, but it is actually a trick achieved with a cool watercoloring technique and some minimal coloring. I’ve created this video tutorial to show you just how this is done.
Although this technique requires a few steps with some drying time in between. It is actually really simple and people will be oh so impressed by you artistic prowess! I hope you will give it a try!

Focal Point: Watercolor Paper – one peacock
Today, Sandi MacIver, Amy Koenders, and I have all created projects featuring items from Project Life by Stampin’ Up! My card was super quick and easy to make and highlights the beautiful Canadian Goose image from the Wetlands stamp set.
I thought the graphic black and white card from Project life would make a great background for the Wetlands stamp in Stazon Black ink. Because the card already had a hint of yellow and a great white stripe across the bottom, I decided to add some Hello Honey Ribbon and mount it on a panel of Crushed Curry. Then, I added my combined panel to a Basic Black card base.
I stamped the goose image from the Wetlands stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock, and put it on my magnetic platform with the Labels Framelits Die on top. With the die in place, I added the “Thanks” greeting from the Another Thank You stamp set. Because this set is one of our clear photopolymer sets, it makes perfect placement a breeze. After cutting out my stamped image, I also cut two dies of the same size in Basic Black. I cut one of them horizontally and the other vertically down the middle. I used the four pieces to create a thin mat for my goose. This requires a little trimming before you glue everything together, otherwise you have little parts that stick out. I like to use Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this because it gives me a little play to move the pieces around before the glue dries.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the image of the little birds in the water along the bottom of a Whisper White Panel.
I really enjoy using Project Life for creating quick cards. The ready-made backgrounds make everything a breeze to put together. I was able to put this card together in just a few minutes while my son played with the dogs! This is not something I can say often with a three year old running around. LOL.

I am having such a great time playing with all of my pre-order items. Today, I want to introduce you to the new 2014-2016 In Colors: Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, and Blackberry Bliss. Aren’t they just yummy! At first when I saw them I noticed how similar some of them are to existing colors from Stampin’ Up!, but as I work with them more, I realize that each has its own unique characteristics. Although some of the differences are subtle, they are important and lead to a more complete palette of color choices. So, without further ado, here are your new In Colors!
For each card in this set, I paired the In Color with two other existing colors for my ombre background. I stamped the In Color with the chevron design from the Work of Art stamp set (available in June) so it would be easy to identify which one is the new color. I also used the In Colors for the card base and tag design. To finish things off, I added the beautiful new 3/8″ stitched satin ribbon to the top of the tag. I love this ribbon! It is so pretty, with a little bit of texture for a special added detail.

To add a little bling to my cards, I finished off each tag with some rhinestones that I colored with the new Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. Then I stamped the chevron design on the inside of the card to tie everything together.
I know that when you are able to get your hands on these great new In Colors you will fall in love with them too. I adore the deep, rich purple of Blackberry Bliss and the calming effects of Lost Lagoon. Mossy Meadow adds a nice new shade to the green color family offered by Stampin’ Up! It has a little more lushness than Always Artichoke, but isn’t as vibrant as Garden Green. Tangelo Twist provides a bit of a rusty undertone to the orange color family, while hello honey has some greenish undertones that remind me of dijon mustard.

(I did not measure for these, I just made one skinny strip, and then made the next two slightly larger each time.)
