Elegant Black and White Mixed Bunch Boxed Card Set – Stampin’ Up!

Today’s project is another boxed set of cards featuring the Mixed Bunch stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  (As you can tell, I’m on a mission to get all of my son’s teacher gifts knocked out!) I was inspired to create these cards by a video I saw created by Brandy Cox (www.brandyscards.com).  I changed the stamp sets and punches to suit what I had in my collection, but the basic design is the same.  I love the simple elegance of the black and white color scheme.

Mixed Bunch B&W (1 of 5)

This card is an easy one to do “assembly line” style to create multiple cards with the same design, which makes it ideal for creating a boxed set.  The base of the card is a black panel with a smaller white card glued on top.  This allows for the look of a colored card base, but allows you to cut down on supplies.  The Whisper White card stock is very economical for making a large number of cards, which is a nice benefit of this design.

Mixed Bunch B&W (5 of 5)

I created a belly band for my box and stamped the envelopes so that they would coordinate beautifully with the cards.  For directions on creating the box, click here.

Mixed Bunch B&W (2 of 5)

I used the 2-1/2″ circle punch to create a hole in the front of the card, and then glued this beautiful black and white flower to the inside of the card.  The flower features the following elements:

  • Blossom Punch – Basic Black card stock
  • 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch – Whisper White stamped with flower from Mixed Bunch (these don’t line up, but I just wanted the design from the flower stamp, so it didn’t matter).
  • Pansy Punch – Basic Black card stock
  • 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch – Whisper White stamped with medalion from A Round Array stamp set.
  • Large Basic Pearl (or rhinestone)

Mixed Bunch B&W (3 of 5)

Another neat element of this card is the “ribbon” along the left edge.  I created this by stamping scrap strips of whisper white card stock using the flower from Mixed Bunch.  I think it adds an element of elegance and is a great way to use up all those little scraps you have lying around.

Mixed Bunch B&W (4 of 5)

I think this set is just beautiful.  I’m a sucker for a black and white color scheme, and I like how these cards can be used for a variety of occasions.  If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Also, Please consider selecting me as your demonstrator for your stamping needs.  I would love the opportunity to earn your business.  If you need any supplies you can shop now in my online store!  Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions or if you would like a catalog.  I’m here to help!

Park Lane & Flower Patch Treat Bag – Stampin’ Up!

Today’s post is an adorable treat bag created using the Park Lane DSP and the Flower Patch photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Flower Patch Treat Bag (4 of 4)

I think this little bag is just delicious!  I love how the flowers pop on the Calypso Coral background of the DSP.  I used the Banner Banter stamp set to create the little “just for you” sentiment, which is just perfectly sized for this little bag which measures 2-3/4″ wide x 4-1/2″ tall  x 2″ deep.

Flower Patch Treat Bag (3 of 4)

To create the bag, I started with a piece of paper that measured 9-1/2″ x 6″.  I scored the short edge at 1-1/2″ and then scored along the long edge at 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 5″, & 7″.  I cut along the score lines up to the 1-1/2″ mark I had scored along the short edge to create the flaps for the bottom of the bag.  Then I folded everything together and secured it with sticky strip.

Flower Patch Treat Bag (1 of 4)

Then I stamped my flowers using the Flower Patch stamp set, and cut out some leaves with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits dies.  The finishing touch was to add a little banner and some ribbon.

Flower Patch Treat Bag (2 of 4)

I’m looking forward to giving this to someone “just because.”  I know it would brighten my day to get such a sweet little package.    If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Card Set – Stampin’ Up!

I love Pinterest for all the creative inspiration it provides.  Today’s card was one that I CASED from Pinterest, and features the Beautiful Bunch stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  To see the original card created by Beth Rush that inspired this design, click here.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (5 of 10)

I am starting to think ahead to the holidays (which will be here before we know it), and I’ve decided to make boxed sets of cards for my son’s teachers.  Although I loved the original design of this card on Pinterest, I made a few changes.  I didn’t want to hand color all of the flowers, so I stamped them on Rich Razzleberry card stock with Blackberry Bliss ink.  I also decided to make the center yellow.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (7 of 10)

I wanted the sentiment to be one that could be used for any occasion, so I chose “Just for You” from the Work of Art stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  The background was created using the Dotty Angles photopolymer stamp set.  At first, I wasn’t sure I would get much use out of that stamp set because it only contains 2 border stamps, but I am so glad I ordered it.  It turns out that those dots are just too cute and can be used to add something special to so many cards.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (9 of 10)

Finally, I made a card box with a coordinating belly band to tie everything together.  For the box, I began with a 9″ x 9″ piece of Kraft card stock.  Using the Envelope Punch Board, I punched and scored along one edge at the 3-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ score lines.  Then I turned the card 180 degrees and followed the same procedure.  For the remaining sides, I lined up my scored lines with the score guide and scored accordingly.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (1 of 10)

The Belly band was created with an 11″ x 1-3/4″ strip of Mossy Meadow card stock, layered with a 1-1/2″ x 11″ strip of Whisper White.  I stamped the white piece, glued it to the green and then scored at 2-3/4″, 3-5/8″, 8″, and 8-7/8″.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (2 of 10)

Of course, a card set wouldn’t be complete without matching envelopes, so I did a little stamping on those too!

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (4 of 10)

This card box will hold 4 cards and 4 matching envelopes, even with quite a bit of embellishment on the cards.

Beautiful Bunch Boxed Set (3 of 10)

I am really pleased with how this set turned out.  I know I would love to receive it as a gift, and I hope my son’s teacher agrees.  I may just have to make another set for myself!  If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Yippy-Skippy & Flower Patch Happy Card – Stampin’ Up!

As soon as I saw the annual catalog, I fell in love with the Flower Patch photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  Now, I must admit, the picture of the stamp set in the catalog doesn’t do it justice, but the photos of the projects created with the stamp set had me hooked!  It is such a versatile set, and I just love how this card turned out today.

Flower Patch (3 of 4)

Another stamp set that I really like is the Yippee-Skippee! sentiment stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I like the whimsical appeal of both the words and the font choices in this set.  “You can never have too much happy!” just seemed like the perfect thought to go with these lovely flowers!  I also love that the Flower Patch stamp has coordinating framelits to go with it.  What’s not to love!

Flower Patch (2 of 4)

And of course, I needed to finish off the inside of my card with some flowers to match the front….  Aren’t they lovely?  The clear photopolymer stamps made stamping this design a breeze!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used for Today’s Projects

If you would like to order any of the products featured in today’s project, click the images below to order from my online store.  I did not attempt to identify the colors used for today’s cards, but I have included the stamp sets and embellishments that made these cards so special.

Bloom with Hope and Floating Watercolor Technique (Part 2) – Stampin’ Up!

First, before I get to my project for today, I need to announce the blog candy winner from last week’s blog hop. I totally forgot to do the drawing on Tuesday! Random.org picked comment number 14, so the lucky winner is Dana! Send me your mailing address, and I will get your Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail. Congratulations and sorry for the delay!

Now, onto today’s project… On Wednesday I shared a card featuring the Bloom with Hope stamp set from Stampin’ Up! that used the Floating Watercolor Technique.  Today, I have another card that I created using the same technique.

Bloom with Hope Float Technique (1 of 7)

I started by stamping the flowers and leaves with versamark ink on watercolor paper. Then I heat embossed them using white embossing powder.

Bloom with Hope Float Technique (4 of 7)

Next, I “painted” the petals with water and then I used my re-inkers to add color to the wet surface.  The water causes the color to spread and fade as it moves outward.  The result can be unpredictable, but I think it is pretty.

Bloom with Hope Float Technique (3 of 7)

After I painted the flowers and leaves, I dry embossed the card base using the Lovely Lace embossing folder.  Then I added some pearls that I colored using my Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blendabilities.

I like the clean and simple design of this card.  I hope that you like it to and will consider pinning this project to Pinterest.  You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Bloom with Hope and Floating Watercolor Technique – Stampin’ Up!

Over the summer I pinned several cards that used the Floating Watercolor Re-inker Technique, and I have finally gotten around to trying it with this card featuring the Bloom with Hope stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Bloom with Hope Float Technique (5 of 7)

I started by stamping the flowers and leaves with versamark ink on watercolor paper. Then I heat embossed them using white embossing powder.   I chose to use white Stampin’ Embossing powder for this card because I wanted it to look like a batik effect when it was finished.

Bloom with Hope Float Technique (7 of 7)

Next, I “painted” the petals with water and then I used my re-inkers to add color to the wet surface.  The water causes the color to spread and fade as it moves outward.  The result can be unpredictable, but I think it is pretty.

Bloom with Hope Float Technique (6 of 7)

After I painted the flowers and leaves, I added a wash to the background.  First, I painted the whole background with water, then I painted it with a diluted ink solution.  After allowing everything to dry, I added the sentiment from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I am pretty pleased with how it turned out in the end.  I hope that you like it to and will consider pinning this project to Pinterest.  You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Giggle Greetings… Sometimes Life is the Pits! – Stampin’ Up!

Lately life has handed me more than my fair share of bad news, so it seemed like the perfect time to have a laugh.  Giggle Greetings is the perfect stamp set to put a little bit of joy into life when life is the pits!

Giggle Greetings (5 of 6)

I don’t mean to sound negative.  My life is full of wonderful blessings too (my new job, a loving family, and most importantly my precious son).  This card is my way of focusing on the positive and bringing some humor to the situation.  I created two different versions of this card because I just couldn’t make my mind up on the design.  Which is your favorite?

Giggle Greetings (3 of 6)

For the green and yellow version, I wanted to add a bow, but I didn’t have any Cherry Cobbler ribbon.  So, I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to die a scrap of white satin ribbon.  It was super easy and did the trick perfectly!

Giggle Greetings (7 of 6)

I stamped the cherry bowl image on the inside of the card in Memento black ink.  I used a post it note to mask the greeting above and below the image.  I liked the simple sketched appearance of the stamped image, so I decided not to color it in on the inside of the card.

Giggle Greetings (8 of 6)

I like how these cards turned out.  I had fun coloring them with my Stampin’ Blendabilities markers, and as always, creating something fun took my mind off of other things.  I just love Stamping!

Sweet Stripes from Paper Pumpkin – Stampin’ Up!

Last week, while I was home caring for my sick little guy, a surprise arrived in the mail… My Paper Pumpkin!  It is always fun to see what’s in the box.  And, it was nice to have a simple project that I could work on while he was napping!

August 2014 Paper Pumpkin (3 of 5)

I have to say I love this month’s kit.  It came with enough supplies to create four large cards and four small cards plus some super cute envelopes to match.  There were also extra die cut sheets and banners that I can use for another project (also nice in case you make a mistake).

August 2014 Paper Pumpkin (4 of 5)

The kit includes everything you need… card bases, banners, stamps, ink, adhesive, envelopes, embellishments.  The only thing I had to provide was a pair of scissors. Another nice thing about this kit is that it covered many different occasions: friendship, congratulations, birthday, and thank you!  🙂

August 2014 Paper Pumpkin (5 of 5)

The kit includes a cute little circle stamp perfect for making the small polka dots on the white die cut panel.  However, after stamping small polka dots on three of the cards, I decided to pull out my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and play with it instead.  I love the effect, and I have to admit it went much faster than the individual polka-dots.

August 2014 Paper Pumpkin (6 of 5)

Check out the cute envelopes that came with this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit.  The large cards came with pink and yellow solid envelopes, but the smaller cards had cute polka-dots and stars on them!  The small cards are just the perfect size to put on top of a gift too!  For the smaller cards, I used the And Many More stamp set to change up the greetings.
