Today’s project is another boxed set of cards featuring the Seasonally Scattered stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I was inspired to create these cards by my friend Amy Koenders. She created a similar card that introduced me to the baby wipe technique. I had never heard of this method before, but I am in love! I adore how the colors blend to create unique patterns. First of all, let me apologize for the photos. I couldn’t get them to show all the details of the Blackberry Bliss layer, which is dry embossed using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder. In the pictures, the layer just ends up looking black, but when I tried to adjust the exposure everything else became washed out. So, just imagine a great textured effect under the main panel. 🙂
For my stamped image, I used the baby wipe technique described in Amy’s post, but instead of creating stripes, I just used random drops of color. I love the effect that is created by combining the Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, and Hello Honey inks.
After my birthday party a few weeks ago, I had a lot of thank you notes to write. This card design was perfect because it was really simple, but beautiful at the same time. I was able to make 25 cards in under an hour (and then it took me another hour to write the notes). I will definitely revisit this card design for thank you notes in the future!
