Celebrate Today Birthday Gift Wrap – Stampin’ Up!

My cousin’s daughter recently celebrated her 4th birthday, and I just couldn’t resist making her gift something truly amazing with the Celebrate Today stamp set and matching Balloon Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up! (Available as a bundle for a 15% discount.)

Isn’t that just about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?  You’d better believe it stood out on the gift table at the birthday party!  In fact, Naomi’s mom saved it and said she is going to put it in a shadow box with some pictures of her at age 4!

I love all the details that the Celebrate Today stamp set has.  The stars and polka dots are just so cute.  Combine those with the matching die set, and this set is very versatile for a wide variety of celebrations.

In order to personalize the gift, I stamped the number 4 and Naomi’s name on some of the balloons using  the Larger than Life Alphabet & Numbers stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I have to say, I am very impressed with myself on this one. LOL.  This gift is just so stinkin’ cute!  Although it did take some time to put together, I had a ball doing it… and really, it didn’t take as long as it looks like it did. 🙂  If you are a fan of this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me.  You will find a “pin it” button at the very bottom of this post following the supply list.

I hope you will consider selecting me as your demonstrator for your stamping needs.  If you need any supplies you can shop now in my online store!  Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions or if you would like a catalog.  I’m here to help!

Park Lane & Flower Patch Treat Bag – Stampin’ Up!

Today’s post is an adorable treat bag created using the Park Lane DSP and the Flower Patch photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Flower Patch Treat Bag (4 of 4)

I think this little bag is just delicious!  I love how the flowers pop on the Calypso Coral background of the DSP.  I used the Banner Banter stamp set to create the little “just for you” sentiment, which is just perfectly sized for this little bag which measures 2-3/4″ wide x 4-1/2″ tall  x 2″ deep.

Flower Patch Treat Bag (3 of 4)

To create the bag, I started with a piece of paper that measured 9-1/2″ x 6″.  I scored the short edge at 1-1/2″ and then scored along the long edge at 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 5″, & 7″.  I cut along the score lines up to the 1-1/2″ mark I had scored along the short edge to create the flaps for the bottom of the bag.  Then I folded everything together and secured it with sticky strip.

Then I stamped my flowers using the Flower Patch stamp set, and cut out some leaves with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits dies.  The finishing touch was to add a little banner and some ribbon.

I’m looking forward to giving this to someone “just because.”  I know it would brighten my day to get such a sweet little package.    If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Everything Eleanor & Beauty of the Season Ornaments – Stampin’ Up!

This week, I have been drawing much inspiration from my friend Amy Koenders.  Last week, Amy posted a project where she stamped on ceramic ornaments purchased from the local craft store.  I was spurred on to see what other media would be good to stamp on.  I started by creating this wooden ornament featuring the Beauty of the Season stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Beauty of the Season Ornament (2 of 2)

I stamped the image using black Memento Ink, which bled a little on the wood surface, but I found that I wasn’t bothered by the effect.  Next, I colored the image with my Blendabilities markers and added some snow with my Stampin’ Chalk Marker.  I finished things off with a little red bow.  I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, even if the stamping isn’t as crisp as it would be on paper.

Everything Eleanor Joy (1 of 1)

This was my next foray into the unknown… What happens when you try to heat emboss a porcelain ornament?  Well, it turns out just beautifully.  For this ornament, I used the flourish stamp from Everything Eleanor from Stampin’ Up!  I stamped the image with versamark ink and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I used a small paint brush to eliminate the extra powder that stuck to the porcelain, and then I embossed it using my heat tool.  It took longer to melt than it does on paper, but the end result is really beautiful.  I embellished with some gold foil stars and rhinestones, and VOILA!

I had a lot of fun seeing what would happen if I stamped on surfaces I had never tried before.  I purchased a few other items that I haven’t experimented yet, so stay tuned for the results.  If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.
