Stampin’ Up Fry Box & Elfin’ Fun!

Hi everyone! I know I haven’t posted anything in an age and a half, but I was inspired to share some of my family’s fun with our elf, Edwin. I arrived home from work today to find a care package at my front doorstep from my dear friend, Amy Koenders (you can check out her awesome blog here.)  What a wonderful surprise to find the Stampin’ Up! Fry Box Die and All About Sugar Stamp set along with some chocolates and a beautiful card!  I knew right away that I wanted to use it for my Elfin’ Fun!

IMG_0560

Isn’t that fry box just the cutest!  It was SO EASY to make too!  One run through the big shot, and two strips of adhesive, and voila!  I just love the polka dot design of the Merry Moments DSP from Stampin’ Up!

I also love the Elf on the Shelf tradition.  I have so much fun scouring the boards of Pinterest for inspiration.  There are a million cute ideas out there, and there is nothing better than seeing my son Carter’s face light up as he reacts to Edwin’s antics.  It is the first thing he does each morning.  He just can’t wait to see what Edwin has been up to during the night.  Here are some more of Edwin’s adventures from 2015.

I hope you have enjoyed my share today.  Happy Holidays to all… I hope to be back in the New Year with some more stamping projects.

Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit – Stampin’ Up!

My friend and fellow stamper, Amy Koenders and I recently had a “Stampin’ Playdate” to assemble the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit.  The cards in this kit are just adorable!

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (6 of 7)

Although, I love the end result of this kit, it isn’t a quick one to put together.  Amy and I worked together for a little over 3 hours to put it together.  It was a really fun evening, and a great way to spend time with friends!  I would definitely recommend it as a social evening for you and some crafting friends!

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (3 of 7)

As the name suggests, the kit is intended to be watercolored, but Amy and I decided to save some time by using a brayer and sponge daubers instead.  We used a brayer on the trees and the sleds, rather than watercoloring them and waiting for the ink to dry. 🙂

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (5 of 7)

This kit comes with materials to create some of the cards in four languages (English, German, Spanish, and French).  Since my sister lives in Germany, I decided to make one of the cards in German.  She’s going to love that!

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (1 of 7)

For the stripes on this card, we used a mask and sponge dauber to save a little time.  We also sponged the letters.  Sponging before you punch out the letters saves a lot of time.

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (2 of 7)

Amy and I used the same sponging technique on the word “Merry” in this card.

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (7 of 7)

The card kit comes with the card bases and embellishments needed to make 20 cards, 5 of each of the four designs (stamps, ink, and adhesive not included).  However, we did decide to add a few extra embellishments for some extra wow!  We used rhinestones colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blendabilities and the Frosted Sequins for a little bling. 🙂

Watercolor Wonder Simply Created (6 of 7)

All in all, this kit provided Amy and I with some great “girlfriend time” and we each walked away with 10 finished Christmas cards!  I’d say that is a deal you can’t beat.  If you are a fan of this project, please pin it to Pinterest for me.  You will find a “pin it” button at the bottom of this post below the supply list.

I hope you will consider selecting me as your demonstrator for your stamping needs.  If you need any supplies you can shop now in my online store!  Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions or if you would like a catalog.  I’m here to help!

November My Paper Pumpkin – Stampin’ Up!

I’m a little behind schedule with sharing the November Paper Pumpkin kit… the December kit will be arriving soon!  I can’t wait to see what it holds, because this last one was just too cute!

Snowflake November Paper Pumpkin (1 of 4)

The kit came with the supplies to make 8 cards and 12 gift tags! They even included snowflake embellishments for the envelopes!

Snowflake November Paper Pumpkin (4 of 4)

I love all the details of this set.  The die cut snowflakes, the gatefold closure tied with silver bakers twine,  rhinestone and washi tape accents just to name a few.

Snowflake November Paper Pumpkin (2 of 4)

The silver foil used for the snowflakes and the hole reinforcement on the gift tags really sparkles and gives them a festive feel.  I think they will be lovely under the tree with silver ribbon on my packages.  The double layered tag also adds an element of interest.  You can see a bit of the silver washi tape peeking out from the bottom layer, and there is even a “to:    from:” stamp on the white layer underneath.

Snowflake November Paper Pumpkin (3 of 4)

This kit was fun to put together, and I was able to create 8 cards and 12 gift tags in one evening!  You’ve got to love a quick and easy project!  If you are a fan be sure to pin this project to Pinterest for me.  You will find a “pin it” button at the very bottom of the post after the weekly deals.

Santa & Co. and Nordic Noel Holiday Treat Boxes – Stampin’ Up!

You know you are an avid crafter when you decide to give baked goods as gifts just so that you have a reason to make cute gift boxes!  I spent an entire day baking last week for that very reason!  Boy, am I backwards!  Anyway, I just love how these cute boxes turned out.  I’ve still got more to make for all of my homemade sweet treats, so you can expect to see more of these from me soon. LOL. 🙂

DSP Gift Boxes (6 of 9)

These gift boxes are a great way to use up leftover holiday DSP too!  I was able to create each box using a 6″ x 6″ sheet of the primary DSP design and a 3-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ scrap of the accent DSP design.

DSP Gift Boxes (7 of 9)

I found the directions for this cute Santa punch art piece on Pinterest.  You can see the directions for how to make it on Alexandra Bleicher’s blog by clicking here.  Isn’t he just adorable, and the Nordic Noel DSP sets him off perfectly! (Note: She used two retired punches, the ornament punch and the blossom petals punch to create the hat, but I think you could substitute oval or circle punches and just trim them to be the right shape.)

DSP Gift Boxes (8 of 9)

I must admit that I wasn’t crazy about these two designs from the Santa & Co. DSP pack, but I love how they turned out on these boxes!  The tree designs blend seamlessly with the Tree Punch.  I also like that these are a little more masculine than some of my other designs (although I think they are also suitable for females).

DSP Gift Boxes (9 of 9)

I love how the Red Glimmer Paper mat makes this sentiment pop!  Sometimes you just need a little dazzle to brighten things up!

DSP Gift Boxes (6 of 9)

As I said earlier, these are the first of many treat boxes!  I am having so much fun making them… it was definitely worth all the hours in the kitchen!  If you are a fan of this project, please pin it to Pinterest for me.  You will find a “pin it” button at the bottom of this post below the supply list.

Endless Wishes Gift Package – Stampin’ Up!

For today’s project, I created a tag using the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I attached the tag to a gorgeous gold box that I created using one of my favorite new tools, The Gift Box Punch Board!  I have been having so much fun playing with that thing!

Endless Wishes Tag (2 of 2)

This box was created using some sparkly gold card stock that I had on hand, but it would be even prettier made with Gold Glimmer Paper from Stampin’ Up!  This box follows the directions for a 4″ x 4″ x 4″ cube that are printed right on the front of the Gift Box Punch Board.

Endless Wishes Tag (1 of 2)

For the tag, I stamped the images from the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set on a Cherry Cobbler tag.  I used Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Notice how I was able to curve the words “celebrate the” around the word “season.”  This is one of the great things that is possible with photopolymer stamps!

Endless Wishes Tag (2 of 2)

I finished everything off by adding a layer of gold foil behind my tag, popped on a little star, and tied the whole package up with a gorgeous Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon bow.

I love that I will be able to put this package under the tree without any additional wrapping, and the recipient will treasure the packaging as much as the contents!  I don’t know about you, but at my house we have a “box stash” that gets recycled from year to year.  I imagine this beauty will get added to the collection.  If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Happy Stampers Holiday Blog Hop – Stampin’ Up!

November Blog Hop

The Happy Stampers group is back with another blog hop!  Today, we have created projects with a holiday theme. This may be your first stop on the blog hop, or you may have linked to me from Amy Koender’s website. Either way, I hope you enjoy the projects I have in store for you today.  My projects today feature the Under the Tree Specialty DSP and the Festival of Trees stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  I just love how these turned out!

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (4 of 8)

For my birthday, my sister gave me a massage gift certificate, and I ended up winning a candle in a drawing from the spa.  I decided to create a custom box for the candle, using my gift box punch board and the fantastic Under the Tree Specialty DSP!

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (1 of 8)

The box fits the candle perfectly! I jazzed up the adorable package by creating a belly band and adorning it with a tag created using the Festival of Trees stamp set and coordinating Tree Punch.  I stamped my tree on whisper white card stock and then sandwiched it between two circles of craft card stock.  Add a star, and some other embellishments and presto… you have a super cute package that anyone would love to receive.

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (7 of 8)

For my card, I used the same elements to create a coordinated look.  I used the stars textured embossing folder on the card base, to add some extra dimension to the front of the card.  I like how it mirrors the star on top of the tree and adds extra texture to the design.  I also looped a little linen thread behind the tag to provide another interesting element.  I like how it all came together.

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (8 of 8)

I finished off the inside of my card, by adding a strip of the Under the Tree Specialty DSP to the inside of the card.  I am really pleased with how these projects turned out!

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (2 of 8)

Festival of Trees Blog Hop (5 of 8)

Of course, a blog hop wouldn’t be complete without some blog candy!  One lucky reader who leaves me a comment will receive the Banner Blast stamp set and the Banner Punch.  To enter to win, leave me a comment telling me one of your favorite ways to use Stampin’ Up! products for the holidays.  I will announce the winner in my Tuesday Updates post on November 25th!  Good luck, I can’t wait to hear your comments.

Everything Eleanor & Beauty of the Season Ornaments – Stampin’ Up!

This week, I have been drawing much inspiration from my friend Amy Koenders.  Last week, Amy posted a project where she stamped on ceramic ornaments purchased from the local craft store.  I was spurred on to see what other media would be good to stamp on.  I started by creating this wooden ornament featuring the Beauty of the Season stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Beauty of the Season Ornament (2 of 2)

I stamped the image using black Memento Ink, which bled a little on the wood surface, but I found that I wasn’t bothered by the effect.  Next, I colored the image with my Blendabilities markers and added some snow with my Stampin’ Chalk Marker.  I finished things off with a little red bow.  I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, even if the stamping isn’t as crisp as it would be on paper.

Everything Eleanor Joy (1 of 1)

This was my next foray into the unknown… What happens when you try to heat emboss a porcelain ornament?  Well, it turns out just beautifully.  For this ornament, I used the flourish stamp from Everything Eleanor from Stampin’ Up!  I stamped the image with versamark ink and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I used a small paint brush to eliminate the extra powder that stuck to the porcelain, and then I embossed it using my heat tool.  It took longer to melt than it does on paper, but the end result is really beautiful.  I embellished with some gold foil stars and rhinestones, and VOILA!

I had a lot of fun seeing what would happen if I stamped on surfaces I had never tried before.  I purchased a few other items that I haven’t experimented yet, so stay tuned for the results.  If you like this project, I hope you will pin it to Pinterest for me. You will find a “pin it” button at the end of this post below the supply list.

Also, Please consider selecting me as your demonstrator for your stamping needs.  I would love the opportunity to earn your business.  If you need any supplies you can shop now in my online store!  Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions or if you would like a catalog.  I’m here to help!

Tag Talk Pillow Box For you! – Stampin’ Up!

Today’s project is a super simple gift that features the Tag Talk stamp set and the Sweet Taffy DSP from Stampin’ Up!  This project is not only cute, but it was also really easy to create!

Tag Talk Pillow Box (1 of 3)

I made the adorable pillow boxes for some of the teachers I work with.  You may recall that I have a new job this year.  I am the Instructional Technology Specialist at my school, which means that I work with all the teachers in the building in a coaching role to help them integrate technology into their classrooms.  I decided that as a part of my new job, I am going to leave the teachers a little treat when I leave as a token of recognition for the work they are doing. Aren’t these just perfect!

Tag Talk Pillow Box (3 of 3)

The box itself was made from a 5″ x 6″ piece of Sweet Taffy DSP.  I used the Pillow Box Punch Board (We R Memory Makers) to create the score lines.  Once the box was complete, I quickly stamped the “for you” greeting from the Tag Talk stamp set and layered it on a Tangelo Twist Scalloped Circle.  I glued a piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the box to break up the polka dot pattern, and VOILA!

I know that my co-workers will appreciate getting a few sweet little treats in these precious pillow boxes.  What a nice surprise to brighten anyone’s day, right?  If you think these boxes are as cute as I do, I hope you will pin them to Pinterest for me.  You will find a “pin it” button at the bottom of this post below the supply list and card stock cuts.  Also, please subscribe to my blog via email by clicking on the “follow” button if you enjoy reading my posts.

Christmas Bauble Holiday Card – Stampin’ Up!

I had a lot of fun creating today’s project for you.  This beautiful holiday card features the Christmas Bauble and Ornamental Pine stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!  These two stamp sets were both ones that jumped off the page for me and began singing my name as soon as I saw them in the Holiday Catalog.

Christmas Bauble (3 of 4)

I began this card with a Garden Green card base.  Then I added a panel of Gold Glimmer Paper.  Next, I stamped the pine branch image in Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Typeset DSP.  I added a few loops of Linen Thread for interest.

Christmas Bauble

Next, I stamped the Christmas Bauble in Memento Black ink on some Very Vanilla card stock.  I colored the ornament image with my Stampin’ Blendabilities markers.  After cutting out the design, I added it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Christmas Bauble (2 of 4)

For my greeting, I stamped the “Christmas Wishes” sentiment in Garden Green ink on a strip of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used the Mosaic Punch to punch the edges of the strip to give it a unique shape.  Then I mounted that onto some Cherry Cobbler card stock for a frame effect.

Christmas Bauble (4 of 4)

I finished off the inside of the card with some pine needles and pine cones from the Ornamental Pine stamp set.  Then I stamped the quote, “May the peace and beauty of the season remain with you throughout the year.”  I just love that idea.  I think it makes a beautiful card that anyone would enjoy getting in the mail to celebrate the season.

I hope you are a fan of this project and will pin it to Pinterest for me.  You will find a “pin it” button at the bottom of this post below the supply list and card stock cuts.  Also, please subscribe to my blog via email by clicking on the “follow” button if you enjoy reading my posts.
