Happy Stampers Birthday Card Blog Hop – Stampin’ Up!

The Happy Stampers are back today with a Blog Hop that is all about Birthdays!  I have created three projects for you today featuring the Celebrate Today stamp set from Stampin’ Up! and the Hello You Thinlits Dies.

Celebrate Today Joy Fold (2 of 16)My projects today are made using the “Joy Fold” technique.  I have been having a great time with this fold lately.  It is a wonderful way to use your Designer Series Paper for a great impact with not too much effort.  The cards today feature the Birthday Bash Specialty DSP, which I am totally in love with!

Celebrate Today Joy Fold (8 of 16)

This picture shows you how the Joy Fold card opens up.  when it is closed, the card just looks like a series of layered panels, but when you open it up, you see that the fold is a bit special.

Celebrate Today Joy Fold (16 of 16)

Another product that I love is the Hello You Thinlits Dies.  For my first card I wanted to pull in a little gold to match the gold balloons in the DSP.  I cut the “happy” die  from the Hello You Thinlits five times (4 Bermuda Bay & 1 Gold Foil) and layered them for a three dimensional element.

Celebrate Today Joy Fold (10 of 16)

On the inside of the card, I created a little pocket for a gift card!  Isn’t that just too cute!  And, there’s still plenty of room for a little birthday message on the top flap of the card.

Celebrate Today Joy Fold (1 of 16)

My next two projects are variations on the same theme.  I used the Celebrate Today stamp set and Balloon Framelits Dies to create the front of each card.  Two of the balloons are stamped directly on the card stock using the masking technique, and the third is die cut from the Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets.  I played around with variations of the Hello You Thinlits and the Crazy About You  stamp set for the sentiments on each card.

Celebrate Today Joy Fold (4 of 16)

I used different variations of the Birthday Bash Specialty DSP for each card to give them slightly different looks.  For this card, I left the inside blank instead of including the gift card pocket.

Of course, a blog hop wouldn’t be complete without some blog candy!  One lucky reader who leaves me a comment will receive the Cute as a Button Simply Sent Kit. The kit comes with everything you need to make 8 cards!  The buttons and ribbon are just adorable.

Happy Stampers Fall Blog Hop – Stampin’ Up!

Happy Stampers Fall Blog Hop

I am so excited about today’s projects.  I love it when the Happy Stampers group does a Blog Hop!  Today, we have created projects with a Halloween or Thanksgiving theme.  This may be your first stop on the blog hop, or you may have linked to me from Sandi MacIver’s website.  Either way, I hope you enjoy the projects I have in store for you today.  I have a trio of coordinated projects for you today featuring the Motley Monsters DSP and Fall Fest stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  My first project for you today is a cute Halloween card created with the Fall Fest stamp set and coordinating Fun Fall Framelits Dies.  I started by adhering panels of the Motley Monsters DSP to the front of a black card base.

Motley Monsters (4 of 9)

I used some leftover items from my September Paper Pumpkin kit for the sentiment panel & greeting.  Finally, I added lots of cute fall elements along the bottom of the card.

Motley Monsters (6 of 9)

I finished the card off by stamping “Happy Halloween” from the September Paper Pumpkin kit on the inside of the card.  I also added a strip of the Motley Monsters DSP and a cute bird sticker from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

Motley Monsters (7 of 9)

For my second project, I continued the theme by maintaining the same color scheme and using the Motley Monsters DSP.  I used Basic Black card stock to create a bag and embellished it with tags cut from the DSP using the Banner Framelits Dies.  As a last minute addition, I also created a coordinating pillow box with my leftover monster paper. I love the use of the White & Tangerine Tango Two-Tone Trim to finish things off.

Motley Monsters (3 of 9)

Finally, I just had to use my Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies to create an adorable Halloween gift card holder!  This item is possibly my favorite product form the Holiday Catalog (although it is impossible to choose just one)!  It makes creating gift card envelopes so simple!  As a busy mom, I love giving and receiving gift cards, but I hate just sticking them inside a card.  I enjoy packaging them in something cute, and this Thinlits set makes that so quick and easy!

Motley Monsters (1 of 9)
I have a wonderful neighbor who keeps surprising me by mowing my lawn.  He is a music teacher, so I decided to thank him with an iTunes gift card.  I didn’t just want to give him the gift card, so I created a little card to insert inside the envelope.  Isn’t this set just adorable!

Motley Monsters (2 of 9)
Of course, a blog hop wouldn’t be complete without some blog candy!  For this blog hop, I’m going to give one of you the opportunity to experience My Paper Pumpkin.  One of the great things about My Paper Pumpkin is that there are always some extra materials that you can use for additional projects, as you’ve seen today.  I used the stamps, extra tags, stickers, clothespins, and sequins that were leftover from my September kit to create today’s projects.  For your chance to win the October kit, please leave me a comment.  You can either give me feedback about today’s projects, or tell me what your favorite item is from the Holiday Catalog.  I will announce the winner in my Tuesday updates post on October 28th!  Good luck, I can’t wait to hear your comments.

2014 Holiday Catalog Blog Hop – Stampin’ Up!

10584045_980253772001198_5992599337409961142_n

I have a special post for you today… It’s the Happy Stampers Holiday Catalog Blog Hop!  This may be your first stop on the blog hop, or you may have linked to me from Sandi MacIver’s website.  Either way, I hope you enjoy the projects I have in store for you today.  Yes, that’s right, projects, plural.  I have a trio of coordinated projects for you today featuring the Bright and Beautiful stamp set from the brand new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, which is live as of today!  You can finally order all those great holiday items that you have been waiting for!  I used many of the new products for today’s blog hop, and I’m excited to tell you all about them.

Bright & Beautiful (7 of 12)

My first project for you today is a shaker card created with the Bright and Beautiful stamp set.  I heat embossed the beautiful star images using silver Stampin’ Emboss powder, and cut out the window using the coordinating Stars framelits die.

Bright & Beautiful (3 of 12)

For the confetti, I punched tons of little stars using the brand new Star Confetti Punch from the holiday catalog.   I used a combination of Glimmer Paper and Silver Foil Sheets to add just the right amount of sparkle.  I also punched some matte stars from Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock.  I just love how this card came together.

Bright & Beautiful (5 of 12)

Bright & Beautiful (6 of 12)

For my second project, I continued the theme by maintaining the same color scheme and embossing technique for this adorable box and gift tag set.  The box was created using one of my new favorite tools, the Gift Box Punch Board!

Bright & Beautiful (10 of 12)

As I played around with the board, I found that if you change the paper size, but follow all the other directions, it changes the height of the box.  For this box, I used a 7-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ piece of card stock and scored at the Large vertical mark, and the XL horizontal mark.  (Note, when you change the dimensions, you have to do custom diagonals, by lining up the corners with the diagonal score groove.)

Bright & Beautiful (9 of 12)

What’s inside the box is almost as good as the box itself!  I just love these gift tags created using the Merry Everything stamp set and the new Note Tag Punch.  I am jumping for joy over these two.  They make creating gift tags a total breeze.  I also used my Scalloped and Angled Tag Topper Punches for some added dimension, but you could easily punch out a ton of gift tags and put them right on the top of a present without the extra layer.  In fact, I’ve got some sticker paper around here somewhere that is going to get a lot of stamping love this holiday season!

Bright & Beautiful (11 of 12) Bright & Beautiful (12 of 12)

Of course, a blog hop wouldn’t be complete without some blog candy!  So, I decided to create a gift card envelope for you using the same design elements as my box and card.  This one is created with another item that is sure to become a staple in my gift giving repertoire… the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies.  If you would like the chance to win this darling gift card holder and the decorative dots embossing folder, please leave me a comment to let me know what you think of my blog hop projects today.  I will announce the winner in my post next Tuesday, September 2.

Retro Fresh Graduation Gift Card Holder – Stampin’ Up!

My cousin is graduating from high school next week, and I am so proud of her!  I created this super cute gift card holder featuring Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and the Pure Gumption stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I think it will be the perfect thing to help her celebrate her big accomplishment.  I hope she has lots of fun shopping!

Pure Gumption Graduation (1 of 7)

Isn’t this adorable?  And you won’t believe how quick and easy it was to create!  What’s more, the stamp set could be changed to match any occasion!

Pure Gumption Graduation (2 of 7)

I began with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ Coastal Cabana card base.  I scored it parallel to the short edge at 3″ and 7″ and parallel to the long edge at 3″.  With the long edge at the bottom, I cut out the two bottom left sections (1-1/4″ x 7″).  I saved that strip to use for the belly band later.  The tab that was created by cutting out those two sections will be folded up later to create the pocket for the gift card.

Pure Gumption Graduation (7 of 7)

I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere panels of Retro Fresh DSP to all the sections of the front and back of the card base.  I layered a Very Vanilla panel in the center section on the inside of the card so I would have a place to write my message.

Pure Gumption Graduation (3 of 7)

Next, I rounded the corner of the tab and used liquid glue to attach the right edge to the inside of the card.  This creates the pocket for the gift card.  Finally, I used the stamps from Pure Gumption to decorate the front and inside of the gift card holder.

Pure Gumption Graduation (5 of 7)

I used the 1-1/4″ x 7″ piece of Coastal Cabana card stock that I trimmed away earlier and a strip of Retro Fresh DSP to create a belly band for the card.  I embellished the band with Coastal Cabana stretch ruffle trim.  Be careful not to make the belly band too tight, or it won’t slide on and off easily when the gift card is inside.  I used sticky strip create the band, so that it would have a very strong bond and withstand being slid on and off repeatedly.

Pure Gumption Graduation (6 of 7)

For the envelope, I selected a sheet of Coastal Cabana DSP from the Retro Fresh pack.  I used my envelope punch board to create a custom envelope and stamped it with the graduation cap image from the Pure Gumption stamp set.

Pure Gumption Graduation (1 of 7)

This gift card holder was so easy to create, and it couldn’t be cuter!  I am going to make a few of these to have on hand for the next time I need to give someone a gift card.  I know that my cousin will love getting this adorable card in the mail.  You should definitely pin this project to Pinterest for future reference!   You will find a “pin it” button at the very bottom of this post below the supply list and cards stock cuts.  Also, if you like my work, why not subscribe to my blog via email.  All you have to do is click on “follow” in the sidebar.
